St Mary’s School Carol Service

susThe church was packed on Friday afternoon with children, teachers, parents and grandparents for the school’s end of term carol service. The theme this year was ‘No room at the inn’ as Primary 4-5 who were leading the service with Nerys, had been reading the novel Stig of the Dump and finding out about homelessness. After a visit to Start Up Stirling they had decided to bring in goods and also to have a collection at the service for the organisation which provides starter packs and also boxes of food for local people in need. A total of £162 and four large bags of goods were taken to Start up at their Donation Station in Dunblane later that evening. During the service the children presented a drama showing the similarity between Mary and Joseph’s predicament on the first Christmas and the difficulties some young couples helped by Start up and other organisations face today.
